Pomegranates have reddish yellow skin. If split, the seeds appear to be separated by several bulkheads or segments. Pomegranate seeds are small round, clear red, and have high water content so they taste sweet and fresh.
This fruit is believed to be effective for clearing hoarseness and avoiding throat dryness. In addition, tannin contained in pomegranates can anesthetize to kill roundworms, pin worms, and tapeworms. In Iraq and Iran, pomegranate juice is used as a mouthwash to cleanse the mouth and teeth, and eliminate bad breath.
